Reflecting the impact his writing has had on young readers, these are primarily thank-you letters written to Troncoso from students whose schools he had visited. The letters from Bon View Elementary School in Ontario, California are particularly poignant due to Troncoso’s aunt, a longtime teacher’s aide at that school, having recently passed away.

Portraits are formal, posed photographs of Cisneros, and are arranged chronologically. Photographers include her brother, Henry (Kiki) Cisneros, Joan Frederick, Alexandro Galindo, Ruben Guzman, Armando Rascón, Al Rendon, and Diana Solís, among others. Also included are a number of portraits of Cisneros with others, notably with her mother in 1998, and Gertrude Baker, Ruben Guzman, Denise Chavez, Jasna Karaula, and Emma Tenayuca.

7 weight Loomis fly rod made by John Graves. Two pieces in green canvas case, case is 59” long. Written on the fly rod: “Loomis F1087 IMX J. Graves” plus Graves’s infinity symbol. According to Bill Wittliff, this was the last fly rod that Graves used, and the fishing line is crinkled at the end where Graves removed the last fly. , undated
Photographs and artifacts collected from Hard Scrabble for the John Graves archive. This collection includes photographs of John Graves and his family, including early 20th and late 19th century family photographs. This collection also contains two clay jugs, one leather belt with the silver “infinity” symbol belt buckle worn by John Graves, the camp box that Graves used during his canoe trip for Goodbye to a River, and a 7 weight Loomis fly rod made by Graves.
